I Voted Sticker Contest

The Washington County Clerk’s Office is continuing its efforts to strengthen community engagement in the election process and is inviting students to help design the official “I Voted” sticker for the 2026 General Election. The 2024 contest drew hundreds of entries from students across the county. The top four designs, created by Washington County students in grades K-12, will be printed and distributed to voters during the November 3, 2026 General Election. In addition to being featured on Election Day, these designs will help promote civic engagement throughout the following year.

Severe Weather Spotting Training

– On Monday, April 13, 2026, a meteorologist from the National Weather Service (NWS) will conduct Severe Weather Safety & Spotter Training at the West Bend Police Department. The training will be held in the Police Department classroom accessed through the City Hall Entrance located at 1115 S. Main Street in West Bend. Parking is available in the Vine Street Municipal Parking Lot across from the Police Department. Two identical sessions will be held - an afternoon session from 1-3 PM and an evening session from 5:30-7:30 PM. This training is free and open to the public and does not require any pre-registration.

County Receives Grant for Flood Resilience Program

The Washington County Board of Supervisors recently approved a resolution to apply for a Pre-Disaster Flood Resilience Grant through the Wisconsin Emergency Management, a division of the Department of Military Affairs, which has now approved the grant for Washington County. The grant to local governmental units is to be used for identifying flood vulnerabilities, options to improve flood resiliency and restoring hydrology in order to reduce flood risk and damages in flood-prone communities.

Indian Lore Bridge Reopened

Washington County was hit by historic flooding in August 2025 that impacted neighborhoods, roads and critical infrastructure. However, Washington County didn’t wait to see what aid would come from FEMA to begin repairs. Especially hard hit were Germantown, West Bend, Richfield and Farmington, where one of the more dramatic results of the flood was the Indian Lore Bridge collapse.

Washington County Veterans Services is working in partnership with Next 18, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans through structured wellness retreats. In 2026, Next 18 will be hosting five no-cost wellness camps at Washington County Golf Course for veterans who live in Washington County. These camps are designed to provide a safe, structured space for veterans to connect with peers, step away from daily stress, and begin building tools that support long-term well-being.
