NOTICE:

In compliance with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision in Senne v. Village of Palatine, 695F3d597 (7th Circuit, 2012), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (“DPPA”), 18 U.S.C. §2721 et.seq., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is no longer releasing personal information under the DPPA unless it falls under a permissible use. Personal information obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles, including an individual’s date of birth, drivers license number, social security number, home address, telephone number, photograph and medical or disability information is prohibited from disclosure unless one of the permissible uses applies. Permissible uses are listed in 18 U.S.C. 2721 (b).

On 09/11/2024 at 3:49pm, the Washington County Sheriff's Office Communication Center took report of a vehicle versus semi-truck accident on Cty Tk M near Trading Post Trail in the Town of Trenton. Deputies and Newburg Rescue were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Fatal Farm Accident

On 9/11/2024 at 4:23pm, the Washington County Sheriff's Office Communication Center took a 911 call reporting a farm accident at 2742 Hillside Rd in the Town of Polk. Sheriff’s Office Deputies and Richfield Fire and Rescue responded to the scene.

08/31/2024 Serious Injury Mountain Bike Accident

On 08/31/2024 at 1:45pm, the Washington County Sheriff's Office Communication Center received a 911 call reporting that a subject had been involved in a mountain bike accident while utilizing the trails at Heritage Trails County Park, located in the Town of Polk. The caller stated that the patient was bleeding from the face and was struggling to breath. Deputies, Lifestar Rescue and Slinger Fire were subsequently dispatched to the scene.

Two vehicle crash

On Monday, August 19th, 2024, at 2:50PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two vehicle crash located on Hy 41 south bound, north of Mohawk Rd. in the Town of Wayne. Deputies responded along with personnel from Wisconsin State Patrol, Kewaskum Fire, Kohlsville Fire, and West Bend Intercept.

Burglary Suspect Apprehension

On August 17, 2024, at approximately 2:02 a.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residential burglary in progress in the 5300 block of State Highway 175 in the Town of Addison. The homeowner reported that an intruder was inside her residence and subsequently fled the scene in a vehicle.

On Sunday, August 11, 2024, at 12:37pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of CTH A and Trading Post Trail in the Town of Farmington. Deputies from the Sheriff’s Office, along with Fillmore First Responders, Fillmore Fire and Newburg Rescue were dispatched to the scene. After the arrival of emergency personnel on scene, West Bend Fire Intercept was requested to respond as well.

Fatal Vehicle Crash

On Friday, August 2nd, 2024, at 8:21 p.m., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a single vehicle rollover crash in the area of County Road Z north of Dunst Drive, in the township of West Bend. Additionally, West Bend Rescue was summoned to the scene to treat the potential injured parties.

Update to 8/1/24 Homicide Investigation
08/02/2024
The suspect in the August 1st early morning homicide in the 3500 block of Pleasant Hill appeared in Washington County Circuit Court this afternoon. Judge Sandra Giernoth found that there was probable cause, that the 41-year-old Village of Richfield man committed 1st Degree Reckless Homicide against his 42-year-old girlfriend. Judge Giernoth set bond at $750,000 and gave the State seven days to file formal charges against the suspect. He remains in custody at the Washington County Jail. Because no formal charges have been filed, we are not releasing the suspects’ names at this time.

Village of Richfield, WI – The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has taken a 41-year-old Richfield man into custody for the death of a 42-year-old Washington County woman. The investigation began this morning at 4:06 am when deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 3500 block of Pleasant Hill for an abandoned 911 call.
