NOTICE:

In compliance with the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals’ decision in Senne v. Village of Palatine, 695F3d597 (7th Circuit, 2012), and the Driver’s Privacy Protection Act (“DPPA”), 18 U.S.C. §2721 et.seq., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is no longer releasing personal information under the DPPA unless it falls under a permissible use. Personal information obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles, including an individual’s date of birth, drivers license number, social security number, home address, telephone number, photograph and medical or disability information is prohibited from disclosure unless one of the permissible uses applies. Permissible uses are listed in 18 U.S.C. 2721 (b).

Town of Erin St. Patrick's Day Parade
03/13/2024
The Town of Erin St. Patrick’s Day parade will be held on Sunday, March 17th. The parade will begin at 11:00 AM. Starting at 10:00am, no vehicle traffic will be allowed on the parade route. Only pedestrian traffic going to the parade will be allowed to pass barricades on CTH K. Pending vehicular and pedestrian traffic on the parade route, the 10:00am time may be adjusted. The Sheriff’s Office in cooperation with the Town of Erin, has taken steps to ensure that the parade route and surrounding highways will be as safe as possible for motorists and pedestrians.

Fugitive Apprehension from Mexico

Ingmar Adir Chew Moran, a 52-year-old former Kewaskum resident who had fled to Mexico in 2020 to avoid prosecution on serious sexual assault of a child charges is now in custody in the Washington County Jail. He appeared in front of Washington County Circuit Court Judge Hetzel earlier this morning on the outstanding warrant and was given a one-million-dollar cash bond. He faces 140 years of confinement on charges of Repeated Sexual Assault of a Child and Sexual Assault of a Child Under 16 years of age. House Fire

On March 4, 2024 at approximately 9:56 pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a house fire at a single family residence in the 9200 block of Orchard Valley Road in the Town of Farmington. The fire was reported by the property owner. The caller advised there was fire that was spreading in the residence from the gas fireplace.

Fatal Crash
02/28/2024
On Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at 8:53 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of what was first reported as a vehicle in the ditch on Division Rd north of Hy 60 in the Town of Jackson. The incident was reported by a passerby who indicated that the vehicle was still running with its lights on and that it was unknown if it was occupied.

17-Year Old Charged in Dangerous Pursuit
01/30/2024
A 17-year-old Town of Farmington male was charged as an adult and released from custody on a $10,000 signature bond in Washington County Circuit Court on Monday with Second Degree Reckless Endangering Safety and Fleeing, both felonies. He was also cited for marijuana/paraphernalia possession. Dresden Fritsch was arrested early Saturday morning after Washington County Sheriff’s Deputies attempted to stop him. A patrol sergeant was driving on I41 in the Village of Germantown when he observed a car approaching him from behind at a high rate of speed around 1:30 am. As the car approached the squad the speed reduced drastically. The squad exited USH 45 near Pioneer Road and re-entered the highway immediately and observed that the vehicle had again drastically increased speed. Dresden’s car was paced at 90 mph.

Fatal Farm Accident

On 01-27-2024 at 1:52pm, the Washington County Sheriff's Office Communication Center took a 911 call reporting a farm accident on Cty Hwy E near Hwy CC. Deputies, along with Hartford Fire and Rescue began responding to the location.

Community Notification

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office is releasing the following information pursuant to WI Statute 301.46(2m) which authorizes law enforcement agencies to inform the public of a sex offender’s release when, in the discretion of the agency, the release of information will enhance public safety, awareness and protection. The individual who appears on this notification has been convicted of a sex offense.

House Fire
01/17/2024
On January 17, 2024 at approximately 2:19 am, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a house fire at a single family residence in the 3600 block of Mayfield Road in the Town of Polk. The fire was reported by the property owner. The caller advised there was an electrical fire in the attic of the two-story residence. The caller was able to use a fire extinguisher to assist in suppressing the fire.
