PARENT INFORMATION
By court order, your child is being detained at Washington County Juvenile Detention. The facility is part of the Sheriff’s Office and is located within the County Jail at 500 Rolfs Avenue, West Bend, WI.
VISITATION
Visitation for family members in Juvenile Detention is non-contact. Family members who may visit include parents, step-parents, foster parents, legal guardians or grandparents. A maximum of three people may visit a juvenile at one time. All visitors are required to provide picture identification before visiting. Visitors are also required to sign in prior to visiting and will be run through a metal detector.
Visitation must be pre-scheduled and is available in half hour time periods. Visiting is available daily from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. and from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. To schedule a visit, call the Juvenile Pod Control at 262-306-2247. If you show up without prearranging your visit, you might not be able to visit your child at that time.
No electronic devices, including cell phones, cameras, etc. are allowed into the visiting areas. Please secure your items prior to your visit.
TELEPHONE
Juveniles are given the opportunity to call their family and legal counsel upon arrival at the facility. After that time, all out-going phone calls are collect or prepaid. Each living area is equipped with a telephone. Detention works with a vendor, Inmate Calling Solutions (ICS), which allows you to put money on an account for your child’s phone calls. Call ICS at 888-506-8407 to put money on your child’s phone account.
Juveniles in detention may make phone calls between 8:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m., when they are not in school or programming.
EDUCATION
During the school year, while your child is being detained, they will attend the Washington Street School, located at the Detention facility. The West Bend School District provides teachers and instructional assistants for educational services. If your child is attending school at the time of their incarceration, you are encouraged to bring their school work to Detention. All materials will be subject to search by the Detention Officers and educational staff.

MEDICAL CARE
Parents or legal guardians are asked to complete a medical consent form which allows your child to receive medical care and medications. Your child’s medical concerns are monitored by medical staff. If your child is presently taking prescription medication, please supply Detention with the medication as soon as possible.
PERSONAL NEEDS
Your child will be provided with a jail uniform, underwear items, footwear, toothbrush, toothpaste, comb, soap, deodorant, shampoo, bed linen, reading and writing materials, postage, recreational activities, meals and snacks.
Absolutely NO incoming items, other than educational materials and prescription medication may be brought into the facility.
Appropriate SOFT cover books/magazines sent in DIRECTLY FROM a company such as Walmart, Amazon, etc. may be permitted. All other items must get prior approval from the Detention Manager, 262-335-4410.
MAIL
Your child is allowed to send mail and is provided with paper, postage and envelopes. You may send letters to your child, please no stickers, glitter, etc. Address envelopes as follows:

RELEASE
Prior to the scheduled release date, please make arrangements regarding the pick-up time with the Juvenile Manager at 262-335-4410 or with the officers at 262-306-2247. All juveniles must be released to a responsible adult. Please be on time and bring identification.
