Washington County Executive to Receive 2nd Emmy at County Fair

WEST BEND, WI – Wisconsin Counties Association President Mark O’Connell will present County Executive Josh Schoemann with his second Emmy award before the Silver Lining Amphitheater main stage performance on Saturday night at the Washington County Fair.

Schoemann originated the idea for the Uniquely Wisconsin series to highlight not only the beautiful places in the state, but the people and culture that sets it apart. As an executive producer of Uniquely Wisconsin, a product of the Discover Wisconsin travel series television program, he has been honored to receive Emmys in 2023 and 2024. The first, out of Marathon County, “Farm to Table Pizzas, The Little Red Barn,” and now for a Kenosha County video, “Field of Dreams: All-American Girls Professional Baseball League (AAGPBL) 80th Reunion.”

“From the very beginning, the Uniquely Wisconsin brand has been about telling the amazing stories of the people and the culture of our state,” said Schoemann. “The Washington County videos beautifully highlight the positive stories in Our Great Community. Getting yet another Emmy win is an honor and we are grateful for the recognition and excited to continue to share so much more.”

The Uniquely Wisconsin brand, built upon generations of rich storytelling from Discover Wisconsin and created by Discover Mediaworks, highlights the stories of the people, the culture, and the history of our state, sprinkled in with a bit of economic development and tourism. To date, the Uniquely Wisconsin brand has reached over 15 million, engaging with viewers, listeners and web browsers, with 21 counties signed on to participate through the fourth season.

NOTE: Fair attendees are welcome to take a photo with the Emmys after the presentation at a booth adjacent to the stage at stage right.
