Village of Jackson - Oaks of Jackson
The 20-acre Village of Jackson site is owned by the municipality and is located directly behind the new municipal building.
The Project Management Team has worked diligently and efficiently with SEH Engineering to create a concept plan for the Oaks of Jackson subdivision. The concept has a diverse mix of housing, ranging from detached single family homes to townhomes.
On October 26, 2022, the Village held an Open House to discuss why Next Generation Housing is important to the Village and to present the concept plan. The Project Management Team presented a PowerPoint presentation with details about the project and examples of what types of housing may be constructed within the development.
The Oaks of Jackson Groundbreaking event took place on May 8, 2023. This was a celebration of work completed so far in the Village of Jackson. Since then, the builders have started home construction with the first closings in April 2024. The project began with the designation of the land within the corridor, driven by the desire to put County-owned land back onto tax rolls. In Spring 2025, the County Executive established the Washington County Redevelopment Vision Task Force. The Task Force comprised of business owners, real estate agents, attorneys, elected officials, engineers, planners, and other advisory members. Throughout the Summer of 2025, the Task Force met four times to discuss market conditions, historical data, the Next Generation Housing Initiative, community needs, and current project site conditions. Following these discussions, the Task Force worked with a consultant to create concept plans for the project, as well as a guiding vision statement. On October 15, 2025, the Task Force presented the vision and concepts to the Washington County Executive Committee. The Executive Committee approved the vision and plans, creating guidance for the development.
In December 2025, the Community Development Department submitted the concept plans for the project to the City of West Bend for review and discussion by the City’s Plan Commission on February 3, 2026. Prior to the Plan Commission’s review, the County will be hosting a Public Open House on January 27, 2026, to present the concepts to the public and gain valuable feedback from residents. The details for the Open House are as follows:
Date: January 27, 2026
