 StrongBodies The Wisconsin StrongBodies Program, empowers individuals of all ages to live stronger, healthier lives. Through community-based strength training programs, participants improve fitness, build strength, gain confidence, and connect socially, enhancing overall well-being. Designed for adults as they age, StrongBodies offers twice-weekly sessions led by trained instructors. Participants follow a structured plan to strengthen all major muscle groups working to gradually increase the weights used.  Participants gain strength, improve mobility, and reduce the risk of conditions like osteoporosis, heart disease, and diabetes.

Classes are offered at the Public Agency Center in West Bend or at the Jackson Community Center. Contact the ADRC to register. 262-335-4497.

 

Disease Prevention and Management

Mind Over Matter: Healthy Bowels, Healthy Bladder is a workshop designed to give women the tools they need to take control of their bladder and bowel symptoms.

Call the ADRC at 262-335-4497 to find out when the next class will be held. Must be over the age of 60 to participate. No cost to attend!

 

Falls Prevention Class

Come and join ATI physical therapy and the ADRC to learn about balance and how it plays a role in falls prevention. You will take home tips on how to improve your balance and learn why balance keeps our bodies upright.

Nutritional Counseling

The ADRC offers nutrition counseling from a registered dietitian for Washington county residents 60 or older for no cost. These services can include medical nutrition therapy for chronic disease such as diabetes, heart disease, weight loss, general healthy eating and more. Meet with a dietitian to get access to individualized nutrition needs and create sustainable healthy habits. Please call Amanda to discuss options and to make an appointment at 262-335-4497. 

 

 

The Senior Farmers Market Nutrition Program (Senior FMNP)

Senior FMNP offers low-income older citizens an opportunity to purchase fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs from certified farmers.

Fruits and VegetablesSenior FMNP vouchers can be used from June 1 through October 31 at any participating farmers market or roadside stand in Wisconsin. In addition to offering nutritious foods, Senior FMNP supports local economies by increasing the use of farmers markets.

Who Is Eligible?
To be eligible to receive a Senior FMNP voucher, you must be 60 or older and meet income eligibility requirements.
There is a limit of one voucher per person.

Senior FMNP checks are distributed during the month of June on a first come, first served basis.
