Washington County Veterans Services & Next 18 Signup for 2026 Wellness Camps

WEST BEND, WI – Washington County Veterans Services is working in partnership with Next 18, a nonprofit organization that supports veterans through structured wellness retreats.

In 2026, Next 18 will be hosting five no-cost wellness camps at Washington County Golf Course for veterans who live in Washington County. These camps are designed to provide a safe, structured space for veterans to connect with peers, step away from daily stress, and begin building tools that support long-term well-being.

Next 18 is not a clinical treatment program nor a group therapy model. The camps use the game of golf as a setting to create calm, predictability, and peer connection. The experience is guided, intentional, and respectful of each individual’s background and service.

Each camp is a four-day, three-night residential experience and includes:

  • Lodging at the Cobblestone Hotel in Hartford at no cost to participants
  • Small group format focused on peer connection and shared experience
  • Guided conversations and practical wellness education
  • Professional golf instruction with no prior golf experience required
  • All meals, golf, lodging, and materials provided at no cost

These camps are open to Washington County veterans who are willing to participate in a small group setting, are able to stay on-site for the full four days, and are open to connecting with other veterans in a structured environment.

To maintain a safe and balanced group dynamic, the following restrictions apply:

  • No spouses or family members may attend the same camp
  • No coworkers or supervisor/subordinate pairs may attend together

Washington County veterans are being prioritized for these camps as part of a coordinated approach between Next 18 and Washington County Veterans Services. The goal is to provide meaningful front-end support through the camp experience while ensuring veterans are connected to local resources and ongoing support afterward if desired.

The available camp dates in 2026 are:

  • June 1–4
  • June 22–25
  • July 13–16
  • August 3–6
  • August 24–27

Veterans who are interested will be asked to complete a short application to help ensure the camp is a good fit. Applying does not commit anyone to attending. Space is limited and participants will be selected based on readiness and fit, not on a first-come basis.
