Criminal Justice Coordinating Council

It shall be the mission of the CJCC to promote and facilitate the implementation of effective criminal justice policies and practices
that maximize justice and the safety of the public.

Governance & Members

Per Article III of the CJCC Bylaws, the Council consists of eleven (11) voting members who serve by virtue of the office or position they hold. Members represent the courts, prosecution, defense, law enforcement, corrections, county government, and health & human services.

Strategic Priorities

Following its founding, the CJCC engaged the Justice Management Institute (JMI) to facilitate a training, member interviews, and a consensus-building process. The CJCC formally adopted its 2026 to 2027 Strategic Plan on June 9, 2026, guided by three priority areas.

Enhance pretrial outcomes through evidence-based practice and supportive supervision, while monitoring trends over time.

Public Meetings

All Washington County CJCC meetings are open to the public and held in compliance with Wisconsin's Open Meetings Law.

Frequency: Regular meetings are held at least quarterly. The Chair may call special meetings as needed

Location & Time: Meeting times and locations are set at least annual by the CJCC. Public Participation: Members of the public may attend every meeting and are invited to address the CJCC during the public comment period.
