On 12/31/2022 at 1:24pm, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Communication Center began receiving 911 calls regarding a garage on fire on Nabob Dr in the Town of West Bend. The occupants of the house and nearby house had all evacuated. Deputies and Allenton Fire were subsequently dispatched to the scene.
The first responding Deputy was able to observe a large plume of dark smoke from some distance away, and upon arrival found the detached garage to be fully engulfed. Allenton Fire upgraded the fire response to the MABAS level. The fire was contained and extinguished without spreading to the nearby residences.
The detached garage and its contents are considered a total loss, with damages estimated to be approximately $60,000. An exact cause has not yet been determined. There were no injuries reported as a result of the fire.
The Allenton Fire Department was assisted by the St. Lawrence, Slinger, Hartford, Kohlsville, Kewaskum and West Bend Fire Departments.
